Role Overview
- Responsible for overseeing and managing the company’s overall logistics strategy and daily operations. The role focuses on optimizing transportation, warehousing, and inventory management to ensure the efficient, cost-effective, timely, and safe movement of goods from suppliers to customers.
- The Logistics Manager is a strategic thinker, data-driven decision maker, and an organized professional with deep expertise in supply chain management.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operations Management
- Develop and implement efficient logistics processes to improve supply chain performance.
- Oversee all warehouse operations including receiving, storage, picking, and dispatching.
- Supervise and coordinate transportation activities: select carriers, plan routes, and optimize delivery schedules.
- Monitor and control inventory levels to prevent shortages or excess stock, and conduct regular stock audits.
- Ensure all logistics activities comply with company policies, legal regulations, and safety standards.
- Plan and establish additional cargo terminal areas at airports when required.
2. Vendor and Carrier Management
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate contracts with third-party logistics providers (3PL), carriers, and suppliers.
- Conduct periodic performance reviews to ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLA) and cost efficiency.
- Build and maintain long-term, strategic relationships with key logistics partners.
3. Team Management
- Recruit, train, and supervise logistics teams including warehouse staff, coordinators, and drivers.
- Provide coaching, feedback, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Set clear performance objectives and conduct regular evaluations.
4. Budgeting and Reporting
- Develop and manage the logistics budget, monitor expenditures to ensure financial efficiency.
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as transportation cost, on-time delivery rate, and inventory accuracy.
- Prepare periodic reports and propose strategies to senior management.
5. Process Improvement
- Analyze logistics data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Implement and utilize logistics management software (ERP, WMS, TMS) to enhance operational efficiency.
- Develop and execute contingency plans to mitigate risks and minimize supply chain disruptions.
