Mr. Johnathan Hanh Nguyen was honored by The Moodie Davitt Report for his contributions to the aviation, tourism, duty-free retail and luxury goods sectors in Vietnam.

In the 342nd issue of December 19, the British magazine said that every year the unit always honors individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the industry, from leadership thinking, actions, principles of social responsibility to business imprints.

Mr. Johnathan Hanh Nguyen - founder and chairman of the Imex Pan Pacific Group (IPPG) - is one of 16 individuals named "Person of the Year 2024". The magazine commented that not many people can have such a profound impact on the Vietnamese aviation and tourism industry as he does.

"Johnathan Hanh Nguyen truly opened Vietnam to the world after the embargo by convincing President Marcos (Philippines) to allow a Vietnam Airlines jet to take off from Ho Chi Minh City to Manila on September 9, 1985. Five days later, he returned home with a series of essential necessities, marking a turning point in Vietnam's history," the magazine wrote. IPPG was also established at this time.

In the following years, as "captain", he continuously promoted the incredible transformation process, contributing to turning Vietnam into an emerging economic powerhouse in Asia, and the aviation industry played a central role in that momentum.

Under his leadership, IPPG has established a strong position in the luxury retail industry, while actively participating in key projects such as Sasco, Cam Ranh International Airport and co-organizing Trinity Forum 2024 in Ho Chi Minh City.

Besides business, Mr. Johnathan Hanh Nguyen also promotes charity activities, demonstrating corporate social responsibility.

Before being selected as "Person of the Year" by The Moodie Davitt Report , Mr. Johnathan Hanh Nguyen was honored by many prestigious domestic and international magazines and newspapers as one of the most influential business leaders. Many people called him the "king of luxury goods" thanks to bringing a series of famous international fashion brands to the country.

The businessman was born in 1951 in Nha Trang, has an MBA from Seattle University, USA and was a financial inspector for Boeing Subcontractor (USA). Mr. Johnathan Hanh Nguyen lived and worked for many years in the Philippines.
