On 30/05/2020, the Da Lat University hosted the announcement event where they publicly granted the title of Council Member of the university for the term of 2019 – 2024 to Mr. Johnathan Hanh Nguyen, the chairman of IPPG, for his non-stop contributions to the school and the local community.

Participants of this event are respected scientists, scholars, business managers & leaders of the university, such as: Mr. Tran Viet Hung – Deputy Chief of the Central Committee; Tran Van Hiep – Deputy Secretary of the Province Committee, Pham S – Vice President of the Province Committee.  

On 10/03/2020, the Minister of Education & Training has signed the certification to recognize the official authority of Da Lat University’s council and the council president for the term of 2019 – 2024. This is the second time Da Lat University has formed the council after successes of the university’s establishment and operation in the term of  2013 – 2018, in order to inherit, promote the existing values and emphasize the role of the council in the mission of management to the university.

The main responsibilities of the Da Lat University’s council are to manage & represent the authority for the university’s owner and the related stakeholders. They also play a major part in making important decisions for the university’s operation. These strategic decisions in the term of 2019 – 2024 are the essential foundation for the university’s new direction in order to get the university become more independent and committed with the updated Education Laws validated from 01/07/2020.

Johnathan Hanh Nguyen, formerly known as this university’s student, who majored in Political Business field 52 years ago. After graduation, he came back to the school and contributed non-stop ever since. His corporation, IPPG, is the sponsor for many projects of the university, such as: university for CEO, A.I. Training Center, Scholarship for student’s startup projects, and the university’s park.

Previously, Mr. Johnathan Hanh Nguyen is also the first Oversea Vietnamese to be entitled “Honorary Doctor” by the Da Lat University. This title has been well-known over the years for honoring respected political activist, social activist, international entrepreneurs, scholars and scientists who made significant contribution to the university and the country. Before getting this title, Mr. Johnathan Hanh Nguyen has been recognized as the member of Children Protection Fund Council, Vice President of Hoang Sa Truong Sa Club, and the winner of the national Labour Order First Class, Second Class, Third Class and Friendship Class.
