IPPG Group, UBTECH and Van Lang University have just jointly announced information about the ROBOG Competition 2024, part of the annual international competition system on AI Robotics of UBTECH, which is held for the first time nationwide with the theme "Discovering AI".

The competition aims to catch up with the rapid development trend and the potential for significant impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology on many different areas of society. This is also the first AI arena in Vietnam to use humanoid robots.

Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Tran Thi My Dieu, President of Van Lang University and Deputy General Director William Hieu Nguyen in charge of development strategy of IPPG Group, said that it is necessary to spread the spirit of love for science and technology and innovation to many people, especially students. Robo G 2024 is a modern competition playground where students can put their knowledge and skills into practice, and have the opportunity to access scientific and technical advances through AI Robotics teaching aids. The competition also aims to discover, nurture talents and select teams representing Vietnam to participate in the Robo G 2024 world finals.

In the preliminary round of creative design (online format), the competing teams in each group will submit documents (presentation videos, descriptive reports, implementation programs) introducing their AI Robotics design models for the Jury to evaluate professionally.

In the final round of task programming (held directly in Ho Chi Minh City), the competing teams in each group will compete to perform tasks directly on the sand table at increasing levels, corresponding to each topic to award national prizes; at the same time, select a list of teams representing Vietnam to participate in the world finals.
Participants are students studying in Vietnam within the prescribed age range. Specifically, Group A is for students aged 7-14, each team consists of 2 students and 1 instructor. Group B is for students aged 13-18, each team consists of 2 students and 1 instructor. Group C is for students aged 15-23, each team consists of 2-6 students and 1 instructor.

The special Group C++ (the first AI arena in Vietnam, using humanoid robots) will be for students aged 15-23, each team consists of 2-6 students and 1 instructor.
It is expected that more than 150 teams will participate in ROBOG 2024, including public schools, private schools, and independent students registered by teachers to compete. According to the announcement of the Organizing Committee, the national competition ROBOG 2024 will be held from June 14, 2024 to August 25, 2024. Registration time (online) is from June 14, 2024 to June 30, 2024 on the official information page (landing page) of the Competition: RoboG.edu.vn.

Time to submit competition documents and vote for the Preliminary Round (online) is from July 1, 2024 to July 27, 2024. Time to announce the results of the Preliminary Round is on August 1, 2024. Time to compete in the Final Round and award ceremony (in Ho Chi Minh City) is on August 25, 2024.
In addition to the prizes of the Preliminary Round and the Final Round with a total value of more than 500 million VND, the teams with high scores in each group of the Final Round will be trained in international competition content to meet the requirements of the World ROBOG Competition 2024. In particular, each team with the highest results in each group (A, B, C/C++) after the international competition training test will be fully sponsored (travel and accommodation) for the international competition.
