IPPG CEO has been voted in TOP 50 most influential women in Vietnam in 2019

Business magazine Forbes Vietnam just published the list of its 50 most influential women in Vietnam in 2019 in the special edition in March. This is the second time that Forbes Vietnam announces this list, including outstanding women in different industries such as: politics, business, education, social work, communications, arts, creativity, and sports. 


 

“The common traits of these leading businesswomen are the firmness, tenacity, and great influence, which has lead them to path of success as well as well as well as affirming new values of modern women.”, said Managing Editor of Forbes Vietnam Vo Quoc Khanh. According to the magazine, 20 of the most influential women this year are entrepreneurs and 30 percent of these entrepreneurs are on the list for the first time. This is the first time that IPPG CEO is on this list of Forbes. Under the management of Mrs. Le Hong Thuy Tien, IPPG has developed remarkably as one of the leading multi-industry corporations in Vietnam, ranging from fashion distribution, food & beverage franchise, shopping mall management & investment, duty-free shops and liquors distribution, etc.
 


 

Started with Mien Dong Supermarket which was Vietnam’s first and largest multi-product supermarket in 1995 sold more than 20,000 products within its 10,000 m² area. In 2003, Mrs. Thuy Tien took the role of IPPG President and has devoted her 16 years to the remarkable development of IPPG to have become Vietnam’s largest fashion retailer in Vietnam and expanding the group’s portfolio to airport investment & management which has correlated to IPPG’s core businesses significantly.

Up to now, IPPG has distributed over 100 international brands with total revenue more than USD 600 million in 2017, created jobs for 25,000 people of which 60% is female and female leaders occupies 70%. Mrs. Le Hong Thuy Tien also is an activist in supporting gender equality as well as an active speaker at inspiring events empowering women.  According to the list, other outstanding politicians and businesswomen are Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyễn Thị Kim Ngân, Vice President Đặng Thị Ngọc Thịnh, Bắc Á Bank General Director cum TH Group Founder Thái Huơng, General Director of Vinamilk Mai Kiều Liên, Vinamilk General Director Mai Kiều Liên, etc. In other to stimulate new values of modern women, Forbes Vietnam is going to organize Forbes Vietnam Women’s Summit 2019 in Ho Chi Minh city this May. This will be one of large-scale events for women this year with over 1,000 guests. In the summit, leading women will share their stories of being pioneers, which is expected to be a huge source of inspiration for other women.
